About the Mini Facelift Procedure

Mini facelifts appeal to patients seeking gradual, subtle changes that can be done on an outpatient basis with a short recovery time. This popular procedure has little to no pain and minimal swelling or bruising. After the procedure, a loose-fitting dressing is applied. There’s some discoloration and bruising, which is normal and generally fades within seven days.

To perform a mini facelift, a board-certified Kelsey-Seybold plastic surgeon makes an incision in front of the ears and then lifts tissue up and outward to restore contour and definition while reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Excess tissue is removed, and incisions are closed with sutures. In some instances, a mini facelift can include liposuction to eliminate fat deposits, fat grafting to restore volume, or non-surgical skin repair treatments to reduce other signs of aging. Other surgical enhancements commonly combined with a mini facelift include neck lift, mid facelift (from the cheekbones to the jaw), brow lift, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).

How Long Will a Mini Facelift Last?
