Basem Abdeen, MD, is a board-certified Internal Medicine hospitalist who attended the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman and completed a medical student rotation at Baylor College of Medicine. After earning his medical degree in 2001, he completed the Internal Medicine residency program of the University of Missouri at Columbia Medical School in 2007. Dr. Abdeen joined Kelsey-Seybold in October 2024.
Moved to practice medicine by his strong desire to help others and make a tangible difference in their lives, Dr. Abdeen provides personal, compassionate care for acutely ill hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist for adults, he has clinical interests that center on the acute management of hospitalized patients with complex chronic conditions. He is also dedicated to ensuring smooth transitions of care and constantly working on improving patient safety and quality outcomes within the hospital setting. Dr. Abdeen’s favorite part of medicine is gaining the satisfaction of helping patients feel better.
