Dr. Wayne Tie earned his undergraduate degree in 2010 at the University of Chicago, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He completed his medical degree in 2014 at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center – Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 2015 at the University of California – Irvine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency in 2018 at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In 2019, he completed his glaucoma fellowship at Tufts University – New England Eye Center and the Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

Fun Facts
The most interesting place Dr. Tie has visited is New Zealand. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a police detective. Something not many people know about him is that he’s an amateur card magician.
