Shazia Ali, MD, attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2013. She remained there to complete both her internship and residency in 2014 and 2017, respectively. From there, Dr. Ali completed a fellowship in pediatric Ophthalmology and strabismus at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in 2018 and a second fellowship in cornea and external disease at Cizik Eye Center, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, in 2019. She joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified ophthalmologist in September 2024.
Backed by parents who inspired a love of education and emphasized achieving excellence, Dr. Ali pursued Ophthalmology and surgery because she enjoys the challenge of precision required to achieve excellent outcomes for her patients. Her areas of expertise range from pediatric to adult eye disease. She enjoys treating complex eye conditions in the front of the eye such as cataracts, cornea conditions, and glaucoma and has a particular interest in surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, corneal transplants, secondary lens implants, and procedures to address strabismus, iris repair, and eye trauma. Dr. Ali especially enjoys seeing how pleased her patients are when they are able to see better after treatment or surgery.
