Sarah Maxey, MD, earned her Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology in 2015 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She then completed her medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UT Health Houston in 2019. In 2023, she completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Houston Methodist Hospital prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in September 2023.

Dr. Maxey was inspired to practice medicine by a family friend who is a medical oncologist. Striving to build relationships with her patients and participating in their lifelong care, Dr. Maxey cares for patients in all stages of pregnancy, provides well woman exams, and treats gynecologic issues. She has a particular interest in pregnancy, contraception, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, and ovarian cysts.

    • Collected clinical data over the efficacy of the HPV mRNA assay to identify HPV latent infection, drafted manuscript, and participated in the editing of the final paper.

    • Utilized multiple cell and molecular techniques and assays in an individual research project: the elucidation of the NKG2D receptor and Syk’s specific downstream role in the signaling pathway in natural killer cells.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Maxey enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and friends.
