Rana Fatima Lahham, MD, attended the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Galveston, completing her medical degree in 2020. She remained at UTMB to complete her OB/GYN residency in 2024. Dr. Lahham then joined Kelsey-Seybold’s OB/GYN department in October 2024.
Dr. Lahham has a passion for women's health and a desire to represent people who look like her in the medical field. As a generalist OB/GYN, she is here to help patients with anything from birth control and sexual health to birth and menopause — and everything in between. Her clinical interests include family planning, reproductive health, prenatal and postnatal care, and general women’s health. She loves that her role allows her the opportunity to be a part of life-changing experiences for her patients.

Research
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: BETA QUANT BOOK 12/2020 – 4/2023
- Assisted in generating an EMR list to keep track of patients being managed for pregnancy of unknown location, ectopic pregnancy, and molar pregnancy
- Conducted survey on provider satisfaction of EMR list when compared to a prior paper log that was being used
- Next step is to conduct chart review to determine if management outcomes were improved with utilization of EMR list compared to paper list
GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH, CUZCO, PERU 05/2017 – 06/2017
- Participated in one bench project involving PCR of parasites
- Participated in two clinical research projects by conducting surveys at the international airport regarding traveler’s diarrhea and acute mountain sickness
- Visited indigenous regions to collect patient samples
- Participated in a pop-up health clinic, assisted in taking vitals and keeping the flow of clinic
- Gained a new cultural immersive experience by taking Spanish classes
Hobbies & Interests
Dr. Lahham loves spending time with her family, whether it's taking her daughter to the Houston Zoo or swimming at her grandparent's house. As long as everyone is having fun together, she is in her happy place. Dr. Lahham also loves reading, baking, and traveling.Education
