After completing his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2008, Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi completed his residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary Department of Ophthalmology in Chicago in 2012. He received a cornea/refractive surgery fellowship from the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in Cleveland, which he completed in 2013. Afterward, Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi worked as a staff physician, clinical associate and assistant professor at both the Cleveland Clinic and Loyola University Medical Center before joining Kelsey-Seybold in September 2016.

Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi is a member of the Psi Chi Honors Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the National Dean’s List Award for undergraduate achievement.

Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi’s favorite book is “The Island” by Aldous Huxley. His guilty pleasure is video games. As a child, he idolized Hakeem Olajuwon and wanted to grow up to become a professional basketball player.
