Dr. Miguel Velez is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at Kelsey-Seybold Spine Center. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology in 2012 from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 2016. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Mass., in 2020. He completed his fellowship in Interdisciplinary Spine and Pain Management at Hudson Medical Group in New York, NY, in 2021.

Hobbies & Interests
Dr. Velez enjoys tennis, sailing, boating, traveling, wildlife conservation, gardening, and playing with his puppy.
Fun Facts
The most exotic place he has visited is Namibia, a country in southwest Africa, where he spent a summer working in an animal sanctuary and a remote medical clinic. “I enjoyed working closely on the relocation of cheetahs and leopards, as well as the amazing landscape of the Namib Desert and the Skeleton Coast.”
Not everyone knows this about Dr. Velez, but he has a green thumb and enjoys working with plants.
All throughout his childhood and up to the time he entered college, Dr. Velez wanted to be a veterinarian and work with exotic animals.
