Matxalen Amezaga, MD, completed her medical degree at University of Central Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela in 2004. She went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Griffin Hospital – Yale University School of Medicine in Derby, Connecticut in 2011. Following her residency, she completed her Rheumatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 2013. Dr. Amezaga is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
She joined our team of Kelsey-Seybold specialist physicians as a rheumatologist in July 2023. Her clinical interests in Rheumatology are rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, scleroderma, Sjogren’s syndrome, mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), and gout.
