Dr. Laurie McKillip earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in 1980 at Rice University, graduating cum laude. At The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she was awarded membership in the honor society Alpha Phi Omega, she completed her medical degree in 1984 and her Pediatrics residency in 1987.
Dr. McKillip held staff positions with various local medical groups before managing her own practice in The Woodlands from 2009 to 2016. From 2017 to 2020, she was a member of the medical staff at Texas Children’s Pediatrics in The Woodlands. She joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2020.

Fun Facts
A neonatologist once told Dr. McKillip: “You can’t have it all.” This advice has helped her find balance between working and being a mom.
Dr. McKillip has traveled to many interesting and exotic places. She went scuba diving in Galapagos, Palau, Egypt, the Soloman Islands, Cocos Islands off of Costa Rica, Fiji, the Outer Banks near the Dominican Republic, Little Cayman, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. But the most eventful trip was the one she and her husband took to China to adopt their daughter.
Something not many people know about Dr. McKillip is she plays the bagpipes.
In junior high, Dr. McKillip read the book “The Making of a Female Surgeon” and was convinced she was going to be a surgeon one day. But in medical school, she discovered Pediatrics, and that is where she has been ever since.
