Lamia Derzi, MD, studied medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2020. Afterward, she completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Galveston in 2024. Dr. Derzi joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2024 as an OB/GYN.
Dr. Derzi was inspired to become a physician by the memory of her late grandmother, who passed away from cancer. Watching her mother struggle to understand the disease process, Dr. Derzi was moved to learn more about the human body. As an OB/GYN, she is committed to educating patients about their health, particularly women's health. In addition to general Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Derzi’s clinical interests include gynecologic surgery, cervical cancer screening, abnormal uterine bleeding, and routine prenatal care. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone's life.
