Fun Facts
The most interesting place Dr. Tierling has visited was on a medical mission trip at the border between El Salvador and Honduras. “The people, food, and culture were amazing!”
Not everyone knows this about her, but she was a science teacher for Houston Independent School District from 2009 to 2011 when working with Teach for America. She was passionate about becoming a pediatrician and working with children and wanted to gain experience teaching since there’s so much education involved in a pediatric visit.
Dr. Tierling’s guilty pleasure is tea! She has an entire cabinet of exotic teas at her house. She also loves jalapeño kettle chips.
As a child, she wanted to be a pediatrician because she loved working with children, always wanted to figure out why something was happening, and loved science and nature.
