Imtiaz Ahmad, MD, MPH, FCCP, is a board-certified specialist in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Kelsey-Seybold. He earned his medical degree at Dhaka Medical College in 1989, going on to complete his internship and residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He also completed a fellowship at University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2000 prior to earning his Master of Public Health at Harvard University School of Public Health in 2001. Dr. Ahmad joined Kelsey-Seybold in July 2024.

Dr. Ahmad sees patients for a variety of respiratory and sleep disorders, including pulmonary conditions such as asthma, chronic airway inflammation, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, and more. His clinical interests include the treatment and management of allergies, asthma, COPD, bronchitis, sleep apnea, and insomnia. Guided into the world of medicine at a young age by his mother’s unwavering commitment to others’ well-being, Dr. Ahmad appreciates the profound impact he can have on improving the quality of life for his patients, helping them breathe and sleep easier.

Dr. Ahmad’s hobbies reflect his passion for exploration and the joy of discovery. He most enjoys traveling to immerse himself in new cultures and environments, discovering new foods, watching movies to escape into different worlds, and visiting state parks and hiking to connect with nature.
