After completing medical school at the American University of Beirut in 1986, Dr. Farhat completed an Internal Medicine internship in 1988 at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Dr. Farhat completed his formal education with a residency in Family Practice at Baylor College of Medicine in 1990.

Awards & Publications

Dr. Farhat has been recognized with a prestigious national certification for excellence in caring for diabetic patients, awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Certification through NCQA’s national Diabetes Recognition Program comes after a comprehensive, individualized review process to verify a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes.

In addition, Dr. Farhat has been recognized for providing outstanding cardiovascular and stroke care by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) Heart/Stroke Recognition Program. Recognition through the Heart/Stroke Recognition program is achieved as the result of a comprehensive, individualized review process that verifies a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients with cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke.
