After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1994, Dr. Higgins earned her medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn. In 1999, she went to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for her residency in Pediatrics, which she completed in 2002.
Hobbies & Interests
Dr. Higgins enjoys singing in the Mission choir at church, exercising at the gym, traveling and spending time with family.
Fun Facts
Dr. Higgins loves seafood. She's fondly referred to as "Doc McStuffins" by some of her patients. During her residency program, she went on a mission trip to Haiti and delivered healthcare and medicine to those living in the poverty stricken region. She learned to appreciate her blessings and the healthcare we have here in the U.S.
